Happy! Happy! Happy!

It's been a while since posting so I thought I'd catch up on what I've missed for the last couple of months.  So...

  • Happy Valentine's Day (or what I like to call Single Awareness Day)
  • Happy President's Day
  • Happy Birthday Bon- My BFF
  • Happy 50th Birthday Jon Bon Jovi
  • Happy Birthday Mom
  • Happy St. Patrick's Day
  • Happy April Fools Day
Ok, I think that about covers it all!

Happy happy happy--that's what I am these days!  The word of the year was "FRESH".  I thought that it was going to come alive after taking the new job in January, however after a month on the job, I realized that it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be and after being presented with some job openings, I was led to a new adventure.  I prayed a lot about it and turned over the control to God and as a result, doors opened and a new opportunity came my way.  All in the course of one month, I interviewed, got the job offer turned in my notice and ended a 5 1/2 year employment with my employer.  March was quite a month and if it wasn't for the pure sense of peace that I have with this new start, I think I'd be a bit overwhelmed.  I'm nothing but excited and sure that this is the place I'm supposed to be.  God is good and He's blessed me abundantly!  I'm excited about this new chapter and can't wait to see what I learn, who I meet, what I get to do, and what differences I can make there!  Yes, tomorrow, I'll start in a new direction...with God guiding every step of the way!

I'm excited about this new company and wanted to show a quick video that demonstrates a little of the culture of the place that I'm going to be working.  It matches my values completely and I think I'll really enjoy working there!  The best is yet to come!

Cheers!

Home Sweet Home--Staycation in October

Today was day one of my stay cation and it was awesome!  I got a two hour massage, went to Hobby Lobby, found a new gift store and made a wreath for my front door. Oh..and I worked out and stayed on  my diet!  I am so looking forward to this week and am just going to take advantage of what there is to do in Dallas, try to see if I can find some deals on Groupon and Living Social, see a few movies and do a little shopping.  I want to plant some flowers and read a book.  I have quite the ambitious list this week...the main one being just completely relax and get renewed to face the rest of the year!  It's been quite challenging and very stressful lately at work, and I'm in much need of just getting away and forgetting what I do for a living for a few days.  I hope the week goes slow.

Smile:  What did I smile about today?
The wreath I made and hung on my front door.  I think it looks pretty professional, if I do say so myself.

Celebrate:  What do I celebrate?
I've done really well on my diet.  I'm making better decisions and working out more.  I feel better and have more energy to do some things.  So far, so good..I've lost about 6 pounds so far...24 more to go!  UGH!

Love:  What do I love?
I love that I have a job that will allow me to be away from it for one solid week and pay me like I was there!  I'm very blessed!

God Bless America!

Breaking News..Osama Bin Laden is dead!  Prayers are answered and Justice has been served!  A bad man got what he deserved.  Almost 10 years ago, this horrible man gave the orders to kill innocent people in one of the worst tragedies in American history!  Praise God that he's no longer able to hurt any more people.

Yes, mom, this is the fire house that was near our hotel in NYC...

As someone said on Twitter...a Girl married her Prince and a bad man is dead...it's a real life Disney movie in action this weekend in our world!

Thought for the day...good always wins...may take some time, but good always wins!

Terrific Tuesday!

When I said that the "sun will come out tomorrow" in yesterday's post, I wasn't sure that it would actually happen (can't ever trust the weather forecasters!), but today, was so happy to see blue skies and the pretty sun up above!  While it didn't get above freezing all day, the sun sure helped improve mood and energy levels!  I love blue skies!

Smile:  What did I smile about today?
God is Good!  His works surround me and I see His hand in my life and others around me!  Lately, he's answered many prayers to heal relationships, help find jobs, keep cancer under control, and help keep stress levels low.  There is nothing more beautiful to smile about than to know the HE is truly in control if we only turn ourselves over to Him!  What a wonderful, peaceful thing to know!

Celebrate:  What do I celebrate today?
Each year I choose a word to help represent what I hope to achieve that year. This year, I chose "Stretch."  It has several meanings but one is to stretch myself in my job and take on some new things that I'm not familiar with.  Today, I found out that I will lead an initiative that I really don't know anything about and is truly out of my comfort zone, but a great opportunity to make a difference in my organization.  It's going to be a lot of work and comes with lots of visibility (which can be a great thing if things go well, but can be quite challenging if it doesn't!).  Many prayers will be sent to help me through this great learning curve!

Love:  What do I love today?

Due to the cold weather, my tire pressure sensor went off in my car, so I had to get to a garage to put in more air in my tires.  You see, I don't want to know how to check the tire pressure, or to be responsible for putting the air in the tires, so I love that there are establishments that I can pull into, not even get out of my car to get in the cold and allow someone else to take care of that for me! While for the most part, I'm a pretty independent, single woman, but this is one area that I play the "girl" card and don't want to know anything about this (I also play this card on mowing the grass and driving a standard car)   Thank you Discount Tire for the free air check and for keeping me safe!

Thought for the day:  "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you"  Matt 7:7--stop --right the minute and say a prayer!

God bless you today and every day!
